Peperoncini (pronounced pep-per-awn-CHEE-nee) are Mezzetta’s top seller, and for good reason! Grown on sun-drenched Mediterranean farms, their golden color and mildly piquant, fruity flavor echo the spirit their native land, making them a classic sandwich companion and a must-have on antipasto platters and salad bars. These crisp golden peppers with just a hint of heat are grown in both Tuscany and Greece. Ours are made exclusively from the Greek variety, which are sweeter than those from Italy.
Because we maintain such high quality standards—we use only the most tender yet crispy peppers—Mezzetta now sells more peperoncini than any other producer in the U.S. We source our peperoncini from small family farms in Greece with whom we’ve been working for more than thirty years. Jeff Mezzetta and our Italy-based import manager visit Greece frequently throughout the harvest to ensure only the best quality peppers end up in our products.
